A Call To Action - My `Re-Elect Nobody' Sign - And The Public Reaction

If you read my sidebar you can see my politics - I detest both political parties and the system they have set up for their own power. That feeling has only gotten stronger over the years; and it perhaps is dawning on the public that we DON'T have a two party system - we have a one political system power structure - that is both sides of the same coin.

One example of why the common folk don't have power against the system is that politicians are a MAJOR SOURCE of advertising revenue on the TV - and RADIO - and NEWSPAPER - mainstream media outlets. Consequently, it would be naive to think that `punches aren't pulled' on anything that the politicians do when in office. Criticism of advertisers is generally prohibited and good business practice. And, in Georgia, with days to the primaries, the stench of the ads is nearly non-stop - especially to folks who believe we have a truly bloated government structure - that no politicians talk about dismantling.

I use that as a background because it was the non-stopness of the ads that eventually - yesterday - drove me into the streets once again. With a standard white posterboard, Walmart purchased,  with huge purple letters that said `RE-ELECT NOBODY'.  It was the same sign I used on the street just before the main election of 2008 - during the September crash of the financial system itself.

However, this time, on Jamerson Road,  in northern Cobb county in Georgia, I stood in front of my subdivision that I've lived in over 20 years (I stood about a mile away before in 2008 at a busy intersection of Jamerson Rd). And, as I say to my friends - who always say they have always wanted to do the same thing, (protest in the street with a sign) - I am doing this for you.

Frankly, I have NO idea why more folks don't take to the public route - for a quick bout of `protest' - `a putting your action where your mouth is' - as the reaction one gets these days - is truly something to behold. Indeed, within a minute, perhaps no more than 25 seconds or so, and only about the 4th car I flashed the sign to - I already had my first horn beep. Which was immediately followed by two cars with the thumbs up sign (some from inside the car and some put well up into the air outside of the window).

Only a minute had passed, perhaps less. I was charged. And, I decided to count those `recognitions' of my protest efforts. (Having done this on a busier interesection in 2008 - I knew about what to expect - but this was certainly a MUCH STRONGER public reaction than in 2008.)

And, before I reveal the number - how many folks do you think would do something in a positive manner in ONE hour? 25? 35? 55? Now, I assumed when I walked out that the response would be less than my sign got  in 2008 - when I estimated the response in an hour, at a busier intersection, to be about 75 `honks-thumbs up' reactions. Indeed, in 2008, not only was it an intersection (as opposed to a two way road) - I was at a red light and it gave many folks the chance to see the sign fully while waiting for the light to change.

But, the reactions and numbers started to add up - and it was from citizens who were driving all types of vehicles - and from what I could see - both sexes, all races, and all age groups (that said, some had a better index in this number). Indeed, in that hour I had one person turn around and pull over to speak with me - and another stop cold in the street (no traffic coming) and spoke with me.

Many folks did more than honk, or give a thumbs up - some yelled out their windows `hell ya' - `absolutely' `right on' and others like `F ya', etc.

I am NOT pulling your leg.

So, have you come up with a number yet (remember, I can only show ONE side of traffic my sign at a time - missing many opportunities)? How many `recognitions' would it take for YOU to go out and do the same thing?

What IF people stood outside of subdivisions thruout America with RE-ELECT NOBODY signs? Do you think the F'ing politicians might get the faintest wiff of discontent with the way they have done things? Indeed, I wonder how many - if any - politicians may have passed my sign? What if politicians had to pass signs like this daily? Would it really be that hard to take just an hour and see what happens if you stand up for an opinion?

So, one last time - how many honks would it take to make you think it is worth your time?

Would 102 do?






(I estimate that 400-500 folks had an opportunity to see the sign and that about half that number actually read it. I actually bet, that it takes a moment to sink in to some folks and that they `wished' they honked - and I bet that if I did it again - that repeaters in such a manner would beep and increase the numbers.)

IDEA - New Name For Tea Party - The American Eagle Party

Hello, welcome to Real Heavy Politics. As you can see from my headline - I have an idea about re-naming the Tea Party. Here goes.

First, IF the people of America really understood history, or the nobility of the original Boston Tea Party - and there was no MSM - the name would perhaps be perfect. BUT, Americans have been dumbed down by the MSM to the point that any nobility in `standing up to the governing' is never a talking point.

Indeed, because of a true lack of focus of the current Tea `Party' and Tea Partiers - the event is indeed made/covered to be a big NEGATIVE `Party' (literally a party, fun event, not serious) that `normal' political party folks - shouldn't be associated with.

Now, as you can see from my sidebar - this idea of a political party claiming `The Eagle' as their symbol-mascot --- instead of a Jackass or a Bloated Elephant - is not new with me. I would hope that I do not need to point out the `values' that might be associated with such a symbol/mascot.

Eagles are beautiful and majestic - the Jackass stubborn, the Elephant - well, an HUGE elephant. And, in most cases - both the elephant and jackass are DEPENDENT on people.

A party associated with the Eagle - would see America FIRST - not a battle for `saying the right words' to the most people. A party associated with the Eagle would eat/take - ONLY what it needed and wouldn't waste - the way nature intended. Protecting ONLY it's own territory. Being INDEPENDENT and self sufficient - but with the needed claws to protect. To protect America.

The Eagle party would RIP apart what is NOT needed in the whole bloated government mess. The Eagle party would be open to ideas rejected by the Jackass and Elephant mutually for decades and decades. The Eagle party would NOT be afraid to pull back the military to our borders to reign in their total power and influence. OR, the influence of lesser evils everywhere to be found under nearly every government program. Even `entitlements'. Even lawyers and lobbyists.

Oh, I forgot to mention - the Eagle would be facing Straight On - looking the nation in the eyes - with a head not facing left or right. And, a `party' not likely to be `mocked' by the MSM (such as their recent interest in a `coffee' party).

The Great Disconnect - Citizens, MainStream Media, and Politicians

A few moments ago on CNBC I heard President Obama say these words `the economy's growth has been the greatest in the last three decades'...................................... I'll let that settle a bit in your mind and the bad taste in your mouth to dissapate.

Here's how I think most would feel.

Oh, really, seems this RHP headline of your own government statistics a few days ago  Great Recession Continues - Unemployment Up In More States Than Down - would be more accurate to the citizens of the country. Let alone your own statistics also showing 44 states with WORSE unemployment numbers now compared to a year ago. Does that remotely sound like the best news in three decades? To most citizens, playing with the numbers to produce words such as `greatest growth in three decades' is beyond reproach.

But, nonetheless, the government leaders speak of the great comeback - and, while the MSM can read the same numbers as the citizens (due to a free press?) - and whose talking heads live in the same communities of the citizens -- and who themselves KNOW that conditions HAVE NOT IMPROVED -- and despite all that - the MSM `talking head' simply repeats what the `leaders' want - and finishes the words with a smile. Following the mantra to `Cheerlead' the economy at all costs - even if it destroys the reporters believability factor. Even if classroom sizes are doubling because of the near disaster of an economy we HAVE? (Can the dissconnect be greater than `saving' at the expense of the children?)

OR, how about this headline at RHP in the last few days? Poll Finds Tea Party Backers Wealthier and More Educated - I mean, to me, certainly, the Tea Party folks have been portrayed nearly ONLY as uneducated, racist, outsiders to the American way of life. Portrayed that way by who? The MSM, of course. Wonder why? Democraps and Republinuts buy LOTS OF ADS and contribute to the MSM's bottomline. The same Republinuts and Democraps that the citizens By Nearly 4-1 Majority of Americans Distrust the Government: Survey feel like this RHP headline.

OR, how about the use of force on citizens that has increased with barely a wimper from the MSM over the last few decades? How much have you heard of this recent RHP headline in the MSM? Maryland's SWAT Transparency Bill Produces Its First Disturbing Results - Just who's side is the MSM on? Huh? Have you EVER heard a MSM person (one that wants to keep their paycheck next week) question where all this is going? Or, what happens when they come for YOU?

And, how could the media miss for decades this story - How The War On Drugs Is A War On Class - again a recent RHP headline much more in contact with citizen views than Politician views. Is the MSM that stupid? Are they that much of a shrill for the views of the politicians? Do they realize that when they show a SWAT raid that nets 20 pounds of pot in one state that in some states Judges are ordering the RETURN of pot to citizens - sometimes pounds of pot? Or that many have prescriptions for this product? Does it strike the media that they have been a shrill for a phoney war against the citizens? (Oh, that's right, lawyers advertise too - let's not upset one of their core businesses.)

Or, that Poll Indicates Plurality Of Americans Views Closer To Tea Party Reformers Than To Elected Worthless Politicians In Congress - is the attitude they should take about what the politicians `say'. But, we have a pussy-whipped media of the first order.

I'm pretty sure it is beyond hopeless - and this - just another internet rant to ignore. And, don't even get me started about the deficit, or, the last time you saw a Libertarian interviewed on TV.
